  1. Radio Amateur Callbook CD ROM Summer 1999

  3. On this CD ROM, there are two Windows (CALLBOOK.EXE and
  4. CALLBK16.EXE) and one DOS version (CALLDOS.EXE) of the Radio Amateur
  5. Callbook CD ROM Summer 1999.
  6.  
  7. IMPORTANT: Beginning with this edition, CALLBOOK.EXE is a 32 bit program,
  8. running with Windows 95, Windows 98 and Windows NT 4.0. For Windows 3.1x
  9. or Windows NT 3.5x, use CALLBK16.EXE.
  10.  
  11. All programs can be started directly from the CD ROM, no installation
  12. is needed. However, an installation program is included for your convenience.
  13. Its only purpose is to install the program icons.
  14.  
  15. In addition, there is are two setup programs (SETUP.EXE and SETUP16.EXE) to
  16. install the Windows icons. Use SETUP16.EXE for Windows 3.1x, Windows NT 3.51.
  17. Use SETUP.EXE for Windows 9x, Windows NT 4.0.
  18.  
  19. Installation (Windows 3.1x):
  20. 1. In the program manager, choose "Run" in the "File" menu
  21. 2. Click "Browse"
  22. 3. Select your cd rom drive.
  23. 4. Select "SETUP16.EXE" and click "Ok".
  24. 5. The setup program starts and prompts you for a group name.
  25. 6. Use the default name "Radio Amateur Callbook" or type in a name you prefer.
  26. 7. Click "Create Icon" to create the icons.
  27. 8. The setup program ends.

  29. Installation (Windows 95, 98 and NT 4.0):
  30. 1. Make sure that you have removed all floppy diskettes from the floppy
  31.    drives.
  32. 2. Place the Radio Amateur Callbook cd rom in your cd rom drive.
  33. 3. Click the "Start" button on the Windows 95 Task bar.
  34. 4. Move the mouse pointer to the "Settings" selection and click on
  35.    "Control Panel"
  36. 5. Double click on the "Add/Remove Programs" icon in the Control Panel
  37.    group box.
  38. 6. Click the "Install" button in the "Install/Uninstall" dialog box.
  39. 7. Click the "Next" button in the Install Program From Floppy disk or
  40.    cd rom dialog box.
  41. 8. The installation program will select "SETUP.EXE" from the cd rom.
  42. 9. The setup program starts and prompts you for a group name.
  43. 10. Use the default name "RAC" or type in a name you prefer.
  44. 11. Click "Create Icon" to create the icons.
  45. 12. The setup program ends.

  48. How to install the WINDOWS version WITHOUT the setup
  49. program- manual installation (Windows 3.1):

  51. Installation:
  52. 1. Activate the program group you want to install to.
  53. 2. In "File" menu, select "New".
  54. 3. Select "Program", click "Ok".
  55. 4. Click "Browse".
  56. 5. Select your cd rom drive.
  57. 6. Select "CALLBK16.EXE" and click "Ok".
  58. 7. Confirm by clicking "Ok".
  59. 8. Install complete.

  62. How to start the DOS version:

  64. Simply type your cd rom drive letter and :\CALLDOS. Example:
